Magic Moments ( June –September 2011)

What a busy third term of the year! Performing all over!! From Cape Town to Botswana form Botswana back to Williston and then Paarl. All this action in the months of July, Augusts and September.

I remember as a beginner magician, 11 years ago, I would always fear that something could go wrong during my performances. There was always a possibility that I could forget how to perform a certain trick, or just do something horribly wrong and then I will get caught out and that would be so embarrassing. But then I decide to face the  element known as “fear”  So..What is fear? Where does it come from? … and What do you fear?

The definition of fear is that it is a painful emotion, caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. You can either be afraid of someone or something, or someone or something can be afraid of you. For some people fear prevents them from ever achieving their goals while for other it helps them. Fear is like day and night, light and darkness.

Fear has the ability to absolutely break you down stomp on you and choke, until you have nothing left to fight back with, or… it can help you. But the only person who can decide if you want to use the energy that fear could provide to your advantage, is you.

When we fear a challenge, 90% of the time that challenge you fear is caused by a human, and why should I fear another human, what’s makes him or her so special…You can overcome your fear, and if anybody tells you that you can’t, that person is a lethargic devil, and is part of the problem you should overcome.

You should be fearless in whatever you do, if it’s your job, your hobby or even sport, being fearless means that you can mould and shape yourself into a super human character…but by saying that you can also sometimes look like a fool! Because you will always take on new challenges and you will not always be ready for them, but that is ok. That is what’s life is about, making mistake and learning from them.

So what’s fear? Fear is only a challenge caused by a human, which you can overcome.

The past few months fear was not an option. During the June/July holidays I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of Ratanga Junction’s holiday program and I performed there for over two weeks and never a dull moment. For great entertainment please view the following web page : www.fusionentertainment.co.za I was part of the team at Rantanga and it was excellent. For the first time ever I had the chance to perform in Gaborone, Botswana. It was really a super experience to visit a new country and experience their culture. They loved the way I could bend their forks with my mind…anyway! For any events in Botswana please contact me via Jika Events , a very helpful events company!

Imagine driving 1100km in one day? 10 and a half hours later back safe and sound after a great performance. That’s exactly what I did. I performed at Williston Winter Festival about two weeks ago and  the people of Williston have never seen anybody change toilet paper into money and they loved it!

On a personal note, I am very proud to say that I obtained my Certificate in Children’s Party Planning through Intec College. On a social level, my touch Rugby league team did very well in the winter season and we won a bronze medal. Next Friday I will have a new challenge when the action netball team that I am part of will play in the final of the winter league for a gold medal..very exciting!

With the Festive Season approaching us, I am sure that I will  have the opportunity to meet some old friends at the end –of- the- year functions and Christmas performances.  To avoid disappointment, please start booking now for these functions, holiday programs and my very unique Leadership Program for Primary Schools. Please contact me for more details regarding this very exciting workshop and also my current HIV/Aids awareness magic road show.
